Why wasn't the Bellagio ever imported to the US

I've been checking out the Moto Guzzi Bellagio, and it seems like a really awesome, well-made, and useful motorcycle. That got me thinking,if it's so good why didn't they ever sell it in the US? Was it because of rules, not enough people wanting it, or what? I'd really like to hear from anyone who knows the reason or anyone who's ridden one in another country

Oh, I agree with you, the Bellagio is really cool and unique Guzzi. but yeah, they're not selling it here likely bcs of the emissions/DOT certification costs vs. projected sales volume
Guzzi has a smaller presence here, so they're pickier about what they import. It's a shame, it looks like a fun ride!

Yeah, this is what I also know. I think for North America, the expected sales of the Bellagio didn't justify the significant expense of full US homologation. There was also a concern about its price point compared to competitors like the Harley Sportster, especially considering Guzzi's already lower sales volume in the US.

Do you think it might've been a mix of stricter emissions standards in the U.S. and low projected demand, or did Moto Guzzi just underestimate the American market's interest in niche cruisers like the Bellagio?
