Bought a secondhand V9 Bobber

2019 Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber Sport 850, bought for cheap but still really good. The first owner already did some upgrades but it looks like he forgot a top box, so I'm here now to ask for advice. Is a rear rack better? Can I add both or?

Yes, you can add both! to add a top box, you need to install a specific rear rack first. The top box then usually comes with a mounting plate that bolts onto that rear rack.

You can, a rear rack is what you'll need to mount a top box anyway, the rack has to be rated for the weight you plan to carry and that it fits the V9's frame cleanly, aftermarket options are out there that won't mess with the look too much

@Four Eaton Instead of a traditional top box, have you considered a good tail bag?
You can get a rear rack and then mount a luggage roll or a semi rigid tail bag.
This gives you the versatility to add or remove luggage easily without a permanent box.
Plus, a good leather or waxed canvas bag will fit the V9's retro style perfectly, don't you think?
