Bevelbox blues on the Stelvio

My Stelvio's CARC system started making noise on the over-run, and sure enough, the pinion nut had worked loose. Caught it early, but why does Guzzi skip Loctite on something this critical?

Yeah, it's frustrating, Guzzi's been known to skip threadlocker there, so maybe for ease of service but on something that vital, it really should've had Loctite from the factory

Good to know I ain't alone in this frustration. The explanation about ease of service seems like robbing Peter to pay Paul. When you addressed the issue did you end up using a particular type of threadlocker?

You'd think something that important would get Loctite from the factory. Maybe they rely on torque specs or a specific assembly method instead, but clearly it's not always enough.

I've wondered the same. Relying on torque alone feels like a gamble when the consequences involve drivetrain wear or worse. I ended up pulling the bevelbox last month and used a medium-strength threadlocker after cleaning everything down to bare metal. So far, no more noise on decel and the nut's holding firm. Have you had to open yours up yet or are you still monitoring for signs? If you're planning to tackle it soon, I'd definitely block off a weekend and make sure you have fresh crush washers and gear oil on hand. When do you think you'll go for it? @Ber.guzzi
